Fatima Sana Shaikh was born on 11 January 1992, in Holy Spirit Hospital, Andheri East, Mumbai. She is a child of Raj Tabassum and Vipin Sharma. Her father and mother both are from different religions. Fatima’s mother Raj Tabassum is from Srinagar, and her father, Vipin Sharma is from Jammu. While Vipin Sharma belongs to Hindu Family and her mother belongs to Muslim Family. Fatima Sana Shaikh identifies herself as an atheist. All her friends and family call her by her nickname Fatty Sana. She has one sibling his name is Shaanib Shaikh. She went to school in Bandra, Mumbai where she spent her childhood. After completing 3rd grade, she was admitted to St. Xavier’s High School, Mumbai. Then she completed her graduation from Mithibai College, Vile Parle, Mumbai. Since she was a child, she has been defiant and self-reliant. When Fatima Sana was younger, she learned to ride a bike. Fatima accomplished everything she desired, even if it was against society’s rules.

At the beginning of her career, Fatima Sana Shaikh worked as a child artist debuting Movie Chachi 420 in 1997. It was her first movie with the famous Star Kamal Haasan. From then on she appeared in many movies like:

One 2 Ka 4 (As a child artist, 2001)
She left acting In between doing child artist Roles as she was not able to attend her school properly. But after some time, she became eager to act and started going for auditions. After lots of auditions, she was selected for Movie Tahaan (2008) where she played the role of Zoya. In 2009 she was featured in television shows like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo (2009), Ladies Special (2009), and Best Of Luck Nikki (2011). She worked in the Zee TV serial named Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo where she played the role of Suman as a negative character. later she appeared in movies like Bittoo Boss, Table No. 21, and Akaash Vani but failed to take place in the Bollywood Industry.
When she failed to get any movies after giving lots of auditions she was on verge of quitting her acting career. and it was the start of her new chapter in cinematography. But later in the same year, she has cast in Nuvvu Nenu Okkatavudam a Telugu film. In the year 2015, she was selected for a lead role as a Geeta Phogat Indian freestyle wrestler. Dangal was the highest-grossing movie of 2016 this movie was the first blockbuster for her. It was the boom for her career. Later In 2017, She was approached for Thugs Of Hindostan. From then on she had done many movies like Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari (2020), Ludo (2020), Ajeeb Daastaans (2021) which were Hit movies.

Fatima was Nominated for Screen Awards as the Best Actress for Dangal Movie in 2017. And in the same year, she was Awarded by News 18 Movie Awards for Best Debut (Female). At the 4th Jackie Chan Action Movie Week in China in 2018, Fatima Sana Shaikh received the Best Action Actress Award for the film Dangal.
